Hoby Recreation TrustIn 2006 we have funded the purchase of a new set of skittles for the Hoby Skittles team In past years we have supported the Childrens Play Area, the restoration of the Hand bells, planted bulbs in the villages and provided benches to enable everyone to rest and enjoy our lovely villages. We are looking for future projects which we can support in the next year If you are resident in the villages of Brooksby, Rotherby, Hoby or Ragdale and have a project which you would like us to consider please contact Angus Walker 434482 or Rosemary Rainbow 434477 PROPOSED NEW VILLAGE ENVELOPE & PROTECTED OPEN SPACESHoby “Village Envelope” and “Important Open Areas”. The Borough Council have drafted a revised village envelope which also identifies “important open areas” – green spaces which will be protected from development. This document has been delivered to all households in the parish and villagers have had the opportunity to comment before the revised plan is adopted. The Parish Council has produced a statement of consultation which includes a summary of representations submitted to the Melton Borough Council and the Parish Council's responses and recommendations. We now await Melton B.C.s response. These documents can be viewed on line by clicking on the links below. NEW FLIGHT PATH OVER THE PARISHEast Midlands Airport has started to incorporate the new air-traffic control regulations which now includes our parish in its control zone. This means that 70% of all incoming traffic now passes directly over our parish at around 3,500 - 4,500 feet. Although this does not cause a major problem during the daytime, an increasing number of flights, mainly freight, come into East Midlands during the night. Freight traffic also uses older aircraft which tend to be noisier. East Midlands has not yet been classified as a designated airport - there is therefore no control over the amount of air traffic coming into, or going out of the site.
